Using IBC 2015, ACI 318-14, it appears to me that there are no wall pier requirements for intermediate precast shear walls in SDC C (but there are requirements in D, E and F).
We have seen drawings from other firms that use intermediate walls for SDC B and C buildings and show wall pier closed hoops without cross ties. Maybe the pier is 2.5 ft wide with 8 bars (4 ea side) and one closed tie around the pier.
Am i missing a section that would require me to detail wall pier reinforcing with closed hoops? and i am, is there an exception to providing cross ties for the vertical bars not located at the corners?
