Dear All,

I am analyzing the Internal partition non-load bearing wall (Unreinforced) for lateral wind load as per Euro Code-6. I am having a doubt about the Bottom edge support condition. I found some examples 4 edge supported panels using bottom edge as continuous and sides and top edge as simple. I am looking for the codal reference for the type of support.

My understanding about considering bottom edge continuous is the masonry joint between Slab and Block wall which is capable to transfer moment before cracking.

Please advise.

If the wall rotationally restrained, you may assume fully restrained. In your case , simply supported assumption should be followed. Pls have a look to the following doc.

Use it up, wear it out;
Make it do, or do without.
