In API 650 - 5.10.5.1 Self-supporting cone roofs,

Do you agree that this paragraph require the roof plate thickness to between 5-13mm? No matter how big the tanks are, the roof plate thickness will never exceed 13mm?

I seem very odd. Compared to the EN14015-10.4.2 the required roof plate thickness is significantly less for tanks with big diameters.

Do anybody have any comments?

This is a limit on the maximmum thickness for the roof. It doesn't mean that a 1/2" thick roof will be sufficient for all tank sizes. If your calculations say you need a thickner roof you should use a different type of roof (umbrella, dome, structurally supported).
