Interpretation UW-13.3 Sketch (c) for Tube sheet with Hub 1

Hi,
I am designing Heat exchanger with hub type Tube sheet as per Fig UW-13.3 sketch (c). Tube-sheet thickness is 150 mm ans adjacent shell thickness is 68 mm.
My question is " Is corner radius requirement as per Note(a) - figure UG-34 sketch (b-2), is applicable for sketch(C) of figure UW-13.3. "

My understanding :
-As radius requirement is not explicitly mentioned in sketch (C) of below figure the way it is mentioned for sketch (a) & (b), radius as per sketch (b-2) of fig UG-34 is not applicable.
-In my job, shell thickness is 68 mm and we have provided corner radius of 10 mm.
If UG-34 is applicable then corner radius comes to 19 mm. With 19 mm corner radius tube holes falls on radius profile, which further create problem in tube # tube-sheet welding

Please suggest.

I have always interpreted the answer as "yes". I prefer to interpret conservatively, such that situations as you describe don't arise. Perhaps there is an Interpretation that clarifies this, but I don't know. Maybe another member can provide one?

Failing a favorable Interpretation, you will likely need concurrence from your AI and client to proceed. This is a perfect illustration of how shell & tube exchangers usually need be designed from the tubefield out.

If shell thk. is 68mm than ts>38mm. Therefore, r_min=0.25*ts=0.25*68=17mm
Maybe that can help you?
