Hello All,

Have any of you ever had a file called Local.ddb get corrupt. It is located in the .proi dir. My problem was when I tried to save I would get a DOS window pop up with a debugger log file. I think the fix is to check all my files in (hoping) and delete all my work spaces and .proi dir. I noticed when I do this new files get created and seem to work, right now I am trying to get all the files that I have worked on into common space.

ALl the time. That file is the Workspace master file for the metadata.

Tips to help avoid corruption:

Purge all of your frames.

Size of the file can cause it to go corrupt. Use a utility in the <proi_loadpoint>\bin folder to compact it.

Workspace names with spaces can cause corruption. PTC TAN

We recommend that all workspaces be deleted weekly to help control corruption.

I have had this happen.

Rename your .PROI folder to OLD_PROI

Open Intralink and a new .proi will be created.

Now you can import your files from the folder you renamed earlier. You'll just have to create your workspace folders over.

Hi Waiwiliki,

You are correct, but you loose all you links that state what files have been modified in one way or another.

That is true, but it is better than recreating all of the data in your workspace from scratch or the last revision again. We are talking corrupt workspace recovery.
Get your users used to checking in their files to commonspace at least nightly and you will minimize the number of lost files/work hours.

Hi Looslib,

As you said before "Purge all of your frames". My peev is that I have my preferences set to 5 frames but this is not working, which I feel created my corrupt file. Now that I know the problem I now Purge my frames.
