Hi,
I have a question about introducing geometry variation in Abaqus. My current problem is a thin tube that is loaded with a compression load at its both ends. In the Model tree, when I define the section module, I found different option that seems to me the options of introducing geometry variation based on the values of shell thickness. What I did is I choose the option Thickness distribution and I define a sinusoidal formula for the shell element being used to discrete the tube. Now, My question is, Scientifically, what does that option mean in Abaqus? Is it function as what I need ? If so Please provide me with any manual that can help to understand the theory behaind it. I really appreciate your help, and if you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask.
