Does anyone have any experience with intumescents relating to structural steel? Particularly the minimum steel thicknesses required to allow the use of this fireproofing. I have found ASTM E-119, UL X-625, X-628, and N-607. For Beams it appears the minimum steel thickness is 1/4", but columns a W8x24 is acceptable and has a web thickness of 0.245". I also know that there are certain humidity levels that will negate their function, and I am trying to use in a fitness center with basketball courts. Anyone know the max humidity level?
thanks in advance
