Would like to know what is generally the hazard level of an Ion exchange vessel (HCl regen system) used in the water treatment plant. What type of relief system is used on such vessels? Since HCl is corrosive, is it wise to have PVC valves?

The major hazard would be overpressure. That is taken care of by relief valves.

Ion exchange valves, vessels and piping are typically lined. One lining is PVC.
