Afternoon all,

Quick question on the IRC braced wall provisions. In Fig. R602.10.7 the end conditions for continuous sheathing are laid out. Is CS the only bracing type that requires specific end conditions? For example I have an interior wall with LIB's, do they need any particular end condition according to the code?

Thanks,

No. Those end conditions are only applicable to CS. For the others, make sure you have a panel within 10 feet of each end of the BWL, and not more than 20ft between them. And any other material specific requirements, of course.

Thanks phamENG I thought that might be the case, just wanted to make sure.
