I usually deal with steel and I have general understanding of NACE requirements for carbon and stainless steels. I have a requirement for ductile iron and I am a little unsure.

NACE states that ASTM A395 ferritic ductile iron is acceptable. However there are multiple grades under A395 (65-45-12 / 60-40-18 etc). Does anyone know if all grades are acceptable for valves/pumps or if any are excluded for sour service?

Thanks in advance

Verify that the pressure and temperature are near ambient, or that the application is otherwise suitable for cast iron. Cast iron is not generally approved by operating companies in the hydrocarbon business for pressure containing components such as piping and valves. Some equipment exceptions may exist to accommodate pump or compressor components.
