Is ASTM 262 mandatory ? 1

Dear all,
I have austenitic U tubes (A-213 TP304L), after bending we carry out solution annealing. Does ASTM 262 mandatory to be done after solution annealing ? How about E 112 determining grain size, is it also mandatory ?

No, the ASTM A 262 is not required. The ASTM A 262 Practice E test for detecting susceptibility to intergranular corrosion is a supplementary requirement (S4) per ASME SA 213, and as such would have to be specified by the purchaser on the PO.

Grain size determination is a requirement per SA 213.
