Hello. I need to ensure that both ASTM SA-193 Gr B7 and SA-194 Gr 2H materials are both fully killed. I'm unable to find reference to this in ASME section II. Is there anywhere else I should be looking?

Thanks

If you review the ASME SA materials specification, under Table I, there are chemical requirements for Silicon and other necessary elements. Silicon is a potent deoxidizer and results in killed steels.

pugheng, I think you are going to have to so specify it from the supplier, as it does not appear to be spec requrement.

Mike

SnTMan;
By virture of the chemical composition requirements stated for each material specification, the steel is killed.

metengr, agreed, and this may meet the need, however the specs in question do not explicily state as some other product forms do. Don't hurt to ask:)

Regards,

Mike
