As i know, The EJMA shall be subject to Appendix 26 in ASME Sec VIII. div.1 because EJMA is used only for bellows when designing the fixed type heatexchanger with latest edition. but our costomer ask us to use EJMA for flanged and flued type expansion joint which is as per Appendix 5.
So we are wondering that EJMA fomula is applicable for the flanged and flued type exapansion joint or not.
Please advise me for this matter.

If 9th Edition TEMA Standards is published..Paulin Research was contact by TEMA for FEA program EJMA for flanged and flued type expansion joint for heat exchanger.

Additionally, incase of exceeding 5 mm thickness of bellows expansion joint, Should i apply the EJMA only for bellows expasion joint regardless of Appendix 26 in ASME Code Sec VIII Div.1 2004 Ed ?

bgchae, I don't have an EJMA manual available, but, EJMA develops some of their own data and so forth, and if EJMA permits thicker material, these designs may be usable under U-2(g).

Mike
