I was trying to find a used version of Pro/E, say ProE2001 and if someone was willing to sell it used, would PTC be willing to redo the license file for my server?

Also, I wondered if PTC would require me to pay maintenance for at least a year in order to allow me to do this... true?

Anyone tried this?

Thanks,

Soil

You won't be able to get PTC to do this for you. Even if you were able to find 2001 cds, which isn't that hard, PTC will make you pay full price for the license codes.

PTC isn't in the business of supporting older software. The license codes you recieve from PTC should support older versions but you'll still have to pay purchase cost and maintenance on them. The cd is the commodity, the codes are what costs the money

In the Pro/E license agreement:

2.4 Only Permitted Users may access or operate the Licensed Products. Customer shall not and shall not permit any third party
to:

(iv) sell, licence, sublicence, loan, assign, or otherwise transfer (whether by sale, exchange, gift, operation of law, or
otherwise) to a third party the Licensed Products, any copy thereof, or any Licence or other rights thereto, in whole
or in part, without PTC’s prior written consent;

Thanks all. I've seen CD's for Sale on ebay and such and figured it was a scam.

People can offer to sell any CD's they want. Without the product codes, they are useless and worthless.
