Is it possible to draw a parabolic curve in Inventor yet? I know that the majority of other programs can do it, however, Inventor nor MDT or Mechanical seem to have a predefined method for making parabolic curves.
Theres obviously plotting points and splining, but this is a bit long winded and not particularly acurate!,
Also, is it possible to use Inventor as a 2d Draughting tool? When I tried the demo, you could 'sketch' in the idw sheets, however due to the nature of the program, you need to 'dimension' the sketch to draw proper sizes efficiently and you cant draw a job up in 2d like you could in Autocad. I know this defeats the purpose of the 3d modelling environment, but I would have thought you could still draw a full blown job in 2d.
One last question, for Solidworks (Im no fan btw) there is at least three specialist 3rd party add ons for PressTool/Stamping Progressive die design (one of which is fantastic).......why is there ABSOLUTELY NO toolmaking (press tool) tools what so ever? Is there one in development or one Im not aware of?.
Im not particularly keen on Solidworks to be honest, Id rather have Inventor series or Thinkdesign, so telling me how great Solidworks is isnt much help! lol. j/k. There seems to be a HUGE gap in Autodesks arsnel regarding this industry that nobody is filling.
