We currently run sw2004 and have SW2005 ready to install- While SW2005 has some new features that we would defiantly use we are reluctant to go ahead with the install until we know that it is stable. We do not wish to have considerable unproductive time while we wait for the first service pack!! as we did with 2003/2004 (i.e Roll back time).

So the question really is- What problems, if any, have users found when upgrading from SW2004 to 2005 and Cosmosworks? - the ones that really make you wish you hadn't installed until the first sp comes out!

Additional Info: We are basically a machine design firm and mainly use Features and Sheetmetal, not Molding. We deal with large assemblies and our Hardware is more than capable of running SW2005. OS= Win XP sp1

SW 2005 appears to be VERY memory intensive and VERY particular about the hardware you have.

Unless you have a solid machine with the absolutely correct video card and 2+ GB RAM, only use 2005 for testing.

It would be a safe bet that the extra memory requirements are sue to the extra functionality, and will not decrease because of a service pack.
