OK, so I'm trying to test out a GPS simulator, and my software, GSG StudioView from Spectracom, uses AutoNavi as the map. There's a GPS simulation scenario that has a figure "S" in China. According to the map data, N32.944094, E112.616558 is the intersection of a couple of roads, which is confirmed in Google Maps:
So, that looks pretty reasonable, but when the satellite imagery is pulled up, the waypoint is actually about 600 meters ESE of the intersection. A similar test of a location in the US is within ~15m of "correct."
Is this typical? Which is "right?" Or are they both "wrong?" I can't go to China with my GPS to find out ;-(.
