Is there a relationship between the hight and K factor

in Nfpa 13 I'm don found any relation between the height and K factor Except.storage hazard
please advice,

There is none that I am aware of. The K-factor is simply a way to relate outlet pressure to flow. I.E. q=k*(p^.5). q=gpm, p=psi
It is an orifice flow equation.

 
However that flow value "q" will relate to the commodities to be protected. For example protecting rolls of combustible plastics would require a high K value so that the incipient fire is doused quickly with a lot of water which brings in another line of thought whereby you want to limit the amount of water to control a fire, you may want sprinklers with high "K" factors.
 
Check out FM Data Sheet 2-0 they have different spacing and k factor for ceilings over 30' for non storage occupancies.

 
High k factor means big water droplets that can drive down in to a rack storage fire plume that has a 30 mph velocity. Other key elements are end head pressure, and Response time index of the sprinkler. [tt][/tt]
