If we click front view, what orientation the object should be? Is there a standard for that?

I set my machine to use X-Z as front plane.

How about you guys?

That depends on if your company has any specific requirements for how the part is oriented with respect to the axis system.

CATIA doesn't care.

I was taught in drafting class, the front view should be the the direction that shows the primary shape of the part and typically shows the most detail.

Yes, that's right. But what Aixs is the front view?

UG use X-Z plane as default.

Catia use Y-Z as default (if I am wight.)

Confusion comes in as the company uses two CAD systems.

The object looked fine in UG become wrong in CATIA.

That's why I changed CATIA to use X-Z plane as front view to keep the system consistant. Proe use X-Y I believe (if I am right).
