We manufacture a metal working fluids and are unhappy with the method that we currently use to test the finished fluids and their components for their tendancey to leach cobalt out of tungsten carbides and other high cobalt materials. Is there a standard test method or is anyone working on developing one?

yes - we have and do plus ICP and dip stick tests -- the hard part is how do you expose the test fluid to the Co - we have tried WC grinding swarf, Co power and high Co carbide (WC) inserts -- but are looking for a standard method so that we don't have to do it a different way every time a customer asks.
