Is there a way to deeply customize how dimensions are displayed?

I'm not refering to the components like gap sizes, text and arrow sizes, etc, etc. that are easily available in the menu. I'm refering to how a dimension is displayed. For example, a dual ref. dimension inch[metric] is displayed as follows:
(31.55)[(801.5)]
Our customer's long-standing standard has been
(31.55[801.5])
The only way we've found to achieve the desired results is to manually place the parentheses as a seperate piece of text after the non-ref dimension is placed. Is there access to customize some system file that controls how this is displayed? Stacked dual-ref dimensions are equally painful to place, as they require about 4x size parentheses around them.

And while I'm at it, here's another item that popped into mind. When placing text in a drawing, is there any way to override the automatic alignment (i.e. turn it off) so that the text you're trying to place doesn't keep wanting to align to other nearby text? This has been a true annoyance, but I'm an NX n00b, so I chalked it up to that.

Thank you for any help!

The second issue can be avoided by pressing the "Alt"-key. I think that there is a preference to turn it off, but can't remember which / where.

On the first issue, regarding the parenthesis es ?
According to the ISO standard ( which is i´s the only one i know anything about) a dimension with parenthesis, is a "helper dimension / Reference" and not a dimension for manufacturing, and therefore be quite infrequent. ?
You can press "left arrow" on the keyboard and enter "( + Enter" then right arrow on the kbd and enter ")+ Enter" whilst the dimension is in edit mode or has not yet been placed on the screen. It might simplify the process even if it isn't exactly what you are looking for.

Good Morning, and thank you Toost! The ALT trick is exactly what I've been needing. As for the method of adding appended text, I will give that a try. Our customer is overly critical and picky about the dimensioning, so we'll see if it will fly. Thank you again!
