Is there a way to have lines appear in Draft view, but not have them appear when printed?

We use SE-2D for high level assembly drawings and place existing symbols into the Draft file programmatically. I would like to be able to show "reference" lines on the symbols that represent a clearance that needs to be maintained around a part that is being placed in the assembly. While I want this "boundary" to appear while viewing the Draft file, I do not want it to appear on the hard copy that will go to the customer. Is there a line type or method that you can recommend?

Not smoothly, like you're talking about, but I can think of a pseudo workaround if you are using the "2D Model" environment along with draft sheets.

If you are creating your geometry in the 2D Model view and using viewports on the draft sheet, you can turn move the reference geometry to the "Auto - Hide" layer. When in the 2D Model view, the reference geometry will show. When on the sheet (which will be printed), the reference geometry will not show.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately in our case we place all the symbols directly into the working sheets and it is in this view that I need to be able to see these clearance lines in relation to other previously placed symbols. We are going to attempt to do this procedurally, by defining a specific layer that the clearance lines should be drawn in, and then use a macro to turn off that specific layer prior to plotting the hardcopy. Hopefully this will do the trick. Thank you for your help.
