Have been trying to put created blocks into my text. So far I've had no luck other than creating a character in Private Character Editor to go in.

Hi,
I am trying to understand, are you looking for a way to paste a list of all your blocks into a text editor?

what i am trying to do is put the block for depth into the text box. currently I am setting it outside of the text box. was just wondering if it were possible except for creating a private character for it in editor.

you've lost me as well on this one. What "text box" is this on a vba form ? OR a VBA or Lisp routine ?
Or are you trying to paste a block into the Text editor (which it sounds like you are trying to do ) ~ the text editor is just that ... a TEXT editor , it does not support graphical entities ~ that's what the rest of Autocad is for.
If I've misunderstood then I'm afraid you'll have to explain further

You answered my question in that one Hendie. Whereas I knew it was for editing text, I was hoping that there was a way to insert block into it.

Thanks for your time

does autocad allow you to create user defined symbols?

User defined symbols are called blocks. Yes you can create them. If you mean user defined text symbols, yes again - you can create a new font that includes symbols (or modify a font to include new characters).
