Dear R12NV,
Would you send me a sample file? I will try to find a solution for your problem. I have solved some similar problems before.

Hi,
We have similar problems from time to time. Try using QSELECT and find the offending LINE (shape). Then you must decide how to rid yourself of it. Either replace it with someting else or delete it. We wrote a VB program to replace the shapes since our customers do not like the annoyance of it asking for a certain shape file either. I hope this helps.

Is the SHX file apart of a "Line type" or a "text style"?

If its apart of a line style ... I'd be careful with trying to delete the SHX file. The shape might be needed to graphically show something.

If its a text style ...
I'd type
style
enter key
"find the text style that points to the NON-EXISTING SHX"
"and I'd point the TEXT STYLE to a ROMANT or some other strange/ noticable SHX file"
click apply
and see where the font applies to ....

In the end you may just want to "point" the text style to a SHX file you have! (If it effects alot of things in your file)

Or if it's one or 2 blocks that are effected ... then just delete them ... if possible?

Sorry for the long explanations.
In the end you might just use CADCAMmike's solution which deletes the SHX and elements out of your drawing.

Let us know what you do.

I think when you find the replacement shx
file that you substitute for the customer
shx file. I would copy that particular
substitute shx file and rename it the same
as the customer named shx file and when it
comes up, you have this file in your acad
directory and it will not ask the question.
