Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing this reference book for general material selection guide.

I'm looking for some input on whether this book is any good or is there a better one I should purchase as reference book for material selection in refinery/petro-chemical services. Thanks.

vesselguy;
I would say being a metallurgist in the boiler and pressure vessel industry, your book selection looks practical. I don't know your background and specific knowledge of material, welding and fabrication, but having did a quick review of the book, I would give it a thumbs up. [thumbsup2]

metengr,
Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

you might also look up books by Michael F. Ashby, one of his books is the first book I turn to for anything materials related.

it's a very good book, i've bought a copy years ago and found it very useful. maybe on some type of corrosion is not so updated but for a general introduction i'll recommend it.
another one you need to consider is the ASM Metals Handbook, Ninth Edition: Volume 13 - Corrosion (ASM Handbook), and also the Corrosion by L.L. Shreir.
