Where is good guidance on placement of isolation joints say, between a floor slabe and a column pier. I'm looking for detailing guidance, with examples. ACI SP-66 doesn't have it, ACI 318 has some info on isolation joints and plain concrete (not what I'm looking for, I don't think) and ACI SP-2 has some good drawings, but not enough text!

Take a look at "Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction" by ACI Commette 302. Also, "PCA's publication "Concrete Floors on Ground.

ACI 302... It's on our shelf - way in the corner, dusty!

...and Concrete Floors on Ground is only $40 from PCA... Not bad, not bad at all!

Thanks!

Don't forget to include re-entrant bars in the slab at joint corners.
