Issues with Simultaneous Use of Model Change and Surface-to-Surface Contact in Abaqus
Hello everyone,
I have modeled the layer-by-layer construction of soil behind a concrete wall using the Model Change Interaction in Abaqus. For the interaction between the soil and the concrete wall, I used Surface-to-Surface Contact, and the model is. two-dimensional
The issue arises when a new soil layer is activated; excessive deformations occur at the interface between the soil and the concrete wall, leading to a Run Abort.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions to resolve this issue.
Note: The Surface-to-Surface Contact between the wall and soil was defined in the initial step using frictional behavior with a penalty formulation.
Thank you in advance!
