Japanese pressure vessel code (KHK certification)

I am looking for general hydrotest information for Japan's KHK certification for pressure vessels. Specifically, how is the hydrotest pressure defined? Is it a similar test comparable to UG-99 and if so what parameters are used; i.e. 1.3 X MAWP or some other factor? What is the ramp up and hold times? Any experience anyone could share in this area would be greatly appreciated.

You need the KHK Code Book. Talk to your AIA as they need to be involved from the start. There are design reviews and your AIA must be accredited in Japan.

If you are with HSB go to their website.

Check:

for a start. 1.5 MAWP is typical but there are variations. If you do not get design review you may be out of luck.

Thanks Dean, I have a sticky situation where the design has been approved by KHK, the equipment already exists in the states with an ASME Div 1 stamp and the manufacturer wants to use a KHK AI from Boston. I originally designed the equipment to Div 1. The license for the equipment has since been transferred and I am being asked these questions. I think I will just tell them to get the info from their "Boston" guy.
