Jardine's MAROS Software - Duty/Standby problem

Hi all,

The MAROS software package models systems with duty/standby components. (I'm a Chemical Engineer, so we're talking about turbines in this instance... 2x100% turbines this time around).

Now, in MAROS, as soon as they fail the duty turbine, they switch to the standby and start to repair the broken duty turbine. All good so far.

The problem is that as soon as the broken duty turbine is repaired, they switch back to that sucker! This messes up all of my numbers somewhat, since the standby is only operating for a small fraction of the time that the duty turbine is running. In reality, the operators would leave the standby one running (becoming the new "duty" turbine), and the now repaired duty turbine would "become" the new standby.

In MAROS you can change this behaviour using "Conditional Logic" (so the manual tells me, anyway). Sadly, there is no explanation of how the heck to do that (and the conditional logic documentation isn't very helpful, I might add).

Does anyone here know how this should be set up?

Many thanks,
- Steve.
