JIC fittings are sized in sixteenths. For example, if the fitting shows the number 8 on it, just divide this number by 16 and that gives you the size of the fitting in inches: 1/2 inch. If the fitting says 16, the size is 1 inch, and so on. Remembering this is easier than memorizing the JIC sizing chart!
