Jim Williams of Linear Technology Corp, one of the world's best analog-circuit designers... passed away unexpectedly...

A sad day - people who really understand analogue electronics are rare. Jim Williams was one of the few. I love the photo of his bench - I am a little envious!

I met Jim in person a couple of times. I still have his EDN articles collected in a binder. He was fun, surprising and very very good. I am truly sorry. Too early for him to go.

More sad news

Bob Pease was killed in a car accident while driving home from Jim William's funeral service yesterday.

Too shocked to say anything more. We have lost two great guys in a very short time.
