Is there a direct JIS equivalent for SAE 1010-1020 HSLA steel? Also, if I only have the JIS steel spec #, how do I translate that to the SAE equivalent?
The numbers 1010-1020 only refer to chemistry according to SAE J403.
Most JIS standards are for specific product forms (sheet, bar, etc.).
Can you provide more information?
As for translating specfications, there is no easy method. Perform a search at this site for references (like Stahlschlussel or Worldwide Guide to Equivalent Irons and Steels)
