Hi folks,
I have got a query on Joining the surfaces in NX. When I try to join (See) an enclosed volume, it gets converted into a solid. How do I avoid this and how can I join all the surfaces without converting it into a solid.

( In NX the name to stitch surfaces together to a larger sheet body is called "sew". "Join" is a feature to merge two faces that had a dividing edge between them.)
Body type = Sheet will let you sew to a sheet body.

Why do you want this result ?
- The surface math is the same but there is no "solid body-definition", no logic on what is inside or outside of the faces, no volume, no density etc.

Tomas

Hi Thomas,
Thanks a lot. Will check and revert.

Hi Tomas,
I am still finding it difficult to join the surfaces without getting a solid out of it.

I just want to join all the surfaces that encloses a hollow box. When I create a hollow box out of the surfaces, and when I sew it, I am getting a solid.

Please let me know what are the possible options for joining the surfaces without making it a solid.

I am a new user of NX. Please guide me.

INSERT -> COMBINE -> SEW
In the menu shown below change to SHEET from SOLID.
If you explain to us why you want this as all surfaces we can probably give you a better way to go with it as a solid body.
