Dear all,

I want to model the influence of an accelerometer on the natural frequency of a structure. I have not used I-deas for several years and am quite rusty now.

How can I "join" the accelerometer to the structure, but still have a separate mesh as the accelerometers density is different.

Thanks in advance

PS. I use I-deas9

First join both volumes and then do a separate. In the mesher you should be able to select each volume. The meshes will be joined at the interface.
