hi

i m designing the multibay cylindrical shell with chord with 35 feet and span of 72 ft.

i m designing it by template of cylindrical shell.

at joint i got the forces in all direction, horizontal forces are quite large as compared to vertical force. I m supporting the shell on 24" x24" column and height is 38 ft.

i got vertical force 45kip and horizontal force 120 kip i.e. thrust from valley beam or end of shell.

how i should design the column, should i take moment by horizontal force i.e. 120x38 or something else.

i want suggestion for column design.

thanks
