Dear people,

Who can help me with the following?
A PQR is made for a weld (see Annex 2) acc 15614-1. Tests are performed acc 15614-1 (Table 1) as T-connection by welding. The customer believes that testing the mechanical properties is required. Agree if this is a butt weld. But is this a butt weld? What is the type of joint connection in this case? Is there a standard that clearly state what a fillet or butt joint is?
The PQR is designed for welding acc Annex 1. Was it better do weld a V-connection as specimen? Or am I wrong?

Thanks!

This is a butt weld, yes, as you're making it full penentration (at least thats what the detail indicates to me - details lack however to clarify this).
To be more precise, I'd call it a half V-groove full pen butt weld.
