Are you trying to move different curves of the SAME sketch to different layers?

If so, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING! It won't work. And don't be fooled by the fact that it appears that you can do this manually. Even though it might looking like you accomplished this, the next time the Sketch updates, ALL of the curves will be moved BACK to the layer that the Sketch object itself is on. All objects in a Sketch must remain on the same layer. Now you can move the entire Sketch from one layer to another, but you can't split up the Sketch so that different sketch objects are on different layers. Now I'm not saying that is causing your Journal problems, but is this is what you're attempting to do using a Journal, even it worked, it's eventually going to be all for naught.

Hello John
What I'm trying to do is to move the Sketch Object (entire Sketch) and any Curve (non-Sketch) on display to different layers. My confussion is regarding the how to differentiate a Sketch-Curve and a Non-Sketch-Curve. By the way moving any skecth line from the same sketch to different is not my intent.
