journal to create tubes from sketch

Our servers are down today but my imagination isn't. I've been contemplating for some time creating a journal to select a sketch and create a separate tube for each curve in the sketch. It would be nice to do this with manual selection but the curves are neither tangent or contiguous. Though not difficult to select each one manually it is time consuming. There are journals to select and perform operations on individual curves but I'd like to figure out how to handle and cycle through a collection of curves.

Can anyone provide an example of this they could share to get me started? Thanks in advance.

The link above shows how to get the geometry from a sketch and reports the length of each line.

Thanks cowski, your posts here have helped a lot. Our servers (including license server) are still down so I've been reading through everything out there on journaling. If anyone is interested I'll post the code.
