I know this thread is donkeys years old but I also know that there are still many engineers using Cadkey that might find this useful. One contributor correctly pointed out that jpg and bmp formats lose all dimension accuracy. It is however still often required to include a realistic photo like picture on an engineering drawing. Another contributor suggested importing jpg pictures. Well none of several versions of Cadkey that I have worked with has this option. So how then? Well if you have Photoshop (probably some other photo programs too but not Paint) you can drag and drop the jpg, bmp or pdf ("printed" from a solids model with CutePdf?) photo into an open Cadkey prt file. Reduce the size of Photoshop on your screen so you have the working areas of both programs visible. Once imported it can be moved or resized and saved as required.
