Just got WF3, installing this week, customer wants to know if

My customers are using CATIA V5 and they are fasinated with the dynamic sectioning. Does anyone know if WF3 has dynamic sectioning?

What do you mean by dynamic sectioning..?

If you mean what I think you mean...try

View>>>Display Settings>>>Visibilities...then move the "clip" slider.(WF2)

Basically this is how CATIA v5 dynamic sectioning works, you select the sectioning icon and select what axis (x or y, or z axis) or vector (a line) to follow and with the left mouse pick select a yellow plane and dynamically drag a yellow plane. In a seperate window the software shows the section of the assembly on that plane. The dynamic sectioning tool only works on assemblies.

Clipping plane is an approach of dynamic sections in CATIA V5. But Dynamic sections is very powerfull.

Using cutting planes, you can create sections, section slices, section boxes as well as 3D section cuts of your products automatically. You can rotate and drag the section plane around your reference in real time. Works only for products (assemblies). There is not implemented for parts.

I'm not a CATIA fan, but I have to admit this is an an amazing tool ProE doesn't have.

HDS -> Dynamic section is 3D, but you can have a 2D section in an alternative window if you wish.
