Anyone familiar wiht the Kawasaki KMX32 mobile valves?
I'm having a bit of a problem with a Kobelco 916.

Support for this in Scandinavia is limited.

Well, the main problem was major overheating but it was solved by flipping a switch(!). Apparently the pumps (Kawasaki K3V180DT) are computercontrolled on a Kobelco 916 Mk II excavator. From what I've been told now, failure in the electronics results in maximum control voltage to the proportional valve controlling the pumps -> maximum swash angle -> maximum flow all the time regardless of valve opening. Hence enginge stalls easily, system overheats, hoses fail from heat.

A well hidden switch releases the electronic control system and the excavator now operates pretty good on the hydraulic control system.

This link is to a document describing a newer machine but the pic on page two should give you an idea.

I assume that my machine now uses two linear springs (the two piece grey line) to approximate the maximum power curve on the Q-P diagram.
A working electronic control system should be able to follow the continues curve, hence make better use of the engine power.

Am I on the right track here regarding my understanding of the system?
