Well, may be this has been asked before, but because the search engine does not work, here I go: Is there a way to keep the visibility (hide show) options between configurations? I want to hide or show a component in one config. and keep that state for ALL the rest of the configurations, in order to avoid manually do that. I don't want to hide or show some components in all my config's when I want to see some details.

Thanks in advance

YES There is. What you need to do when creating a configuration you want to make sure to select the checkmarks that say suppress and hide features. This will make certain that things that are hidden or suppressed in one configuration will be suppressed in others.

I'm not sure if this option is available when making derived configurations.

So I guess I need to ask what kind of configurations do you have? derived or regular?

Actually I use only regular configurations. Thanks for the answer

Well, I was trying the option that jksolid give me, but I found that this advanced options only works when you insert a NEW component. What I want is to change the visibility state in the componenets I already have in my assembly... For example, I have two configurations with diferent positions of a cam, but the cam is cover with a lot of parts. To see how the cam change in every configuration I have to hide all that components in all the configurations, instead, i want to hide only in one and that the components keep that state in all the other configs.

You can setup a DT in your assembly.

1) You then place $Show@Component_Name<Instance> in Column "B" Row "2" Use your component name and instance. Do this for each column. You do this for the total amount of parts you have.

2) Then under column "A" Row "3" and below you place the Configuration names you want in your assembly.

3) Then under each component per config you can place a Y or and N. This will show or not show the files. Y = "Yes", N = "No".

If you go to the Edit pulldown instead of right-clicking, you will get options in Hide or Suppress in: This configuration, All configurations, or Specified configurations.

Your still going to need to check each configuration and make sure the properties are set to hide and supress the components.

Once each configuration is set. then you can go to each configuration and hide and supress components.

I don't think there is any other way.
