In ABAQUS, if we apply kinematic coupling between two nodes, say node 1 is master and node 2 is a slave, and constrain U2 and U3, shouldn't U2 for node 1 = U2 for node 2 and U3 for node 1 = U3 for node 2 be true?

@Mustaine3, thank you for the reply.
So what about if I constrain everything besides U1; shouldn't U2, U3, UR1, UR2, UR3 be the same for both nodes A and B?

If you want to achieve such effect, try with equation constraint instead of coupling.

What I am trying to do is constrain two nodes but also make sure there is no axial force transfer between those. WHat do you suggest?

If you want to constrain everything beside the axial movement and want this direction to be updated during the simulation, then you should look at a connector type TRANSLATOR. The documentation gives you more details.
