Kinematics Simulation from Manikin's POV?

Hello. I am modeling a new type of roller coaster in CATIA. I was wondering if there is a way to run the simulation from the viewpoint of the manikin riding in the car? Here's some of my test simulations just to give you an idea of what I am trying to do.

Is this POV simulation possible and if so how would you do it? Thanks for your help.

for the line of sight, create a camera in (View - Named View) and position it close to your manikin head then attache the camera to the head, change property to perspective.

You can open a camera view window while in DMU Nav

Use this Camera window for recording

Thanks for the information! It gives me a better idea of how to do it but I have a few questions for clarification:

Which workbench do you use to create the camera?
How do you attach the camera to the manikin's head?
Can I run my simulation in DMU Nav?
How do you open the camera view window? Is there an icon for that?

Hello,

I think you can create the camera in any Product Level Workbench (any DMU, KIN, or even HBR)

use the function in the View menu:

I attach the camera to the head of the manikin with the "attach/detach" function :

you can play simulation in DMU

In DMU Nav, using the Window Menu, you can open the Camera window:

Thanks for the screen shots, that's very helpful. I was able to do everything you showed how to do. The problem now is that the camera is not moving along with the manikin, it remains stationary even though it is attached. Any idea why?

how do you move the manikin?

The manikin is part of a sub-assembly call "body." I used a fix together constrain between the seats and the manikin. When the seats move forward with the car, the manikin moves with the seats but the camera remains behind. Hopefully the attached screen shots will help you see what I am trying to do.

works for me, I am using R18 SP3

It works!!! Magnificent! For some reason it wasn't working for the manikin I already had in my assembly, so I created a new one and it worked beautifully! Thank you so much for your help, this is awesome! I will post a video of my results when it is complete.

What does that option do? Is that the reason my simulation wasn't working before?

When I simulate in the camera view it automatically switches the geometry to "shading with edges" instead of what I want to see, which is "shading with material." Is there an option somewhere to change this?
