Dear all,

I'm new with the kinematik workbench in Catia v5.I would like to realise two movements with the software catia. The movements are:
The rotation of the spindle and the linear movement of the machine on the plate. I attached a figure showing the
the machine.

Thank you in advance for your help

case 1: the Spindle moves with the Machine:

You can use 2 joints: Revolute (1 rotation DOF - Spindle/Machine) and Prismatic (1 linear DOF - Machine/Plate).

You can link them with Rack joint if you want to create a relation between the rotation and the linear movement.

case 2: the Spindle does not "move with the Machine" (no translation Spindle/Plate):

You can use Screw (2 DOF linked with pitch in mm/turn = 1 DOF - Spindle / Machine)

But you will have to put a Revolute joint between Spindle and Plate and Planar between Machine and plate.
