We have one Kinetsync regulator, Europe - Serbia, and recently had a lot of problem with starting our 2 MW synhronous motor .
Our amusing problem was DC voltage on rotor before start without input voltage on two impulse cards TRIG 3 .
we found that the voltage from the secondary transformers somehow over the thyristor and orthocopters is the cause of the problem with opening of the bridge and voltage before start that we temporarily solved by removing wires from cathode and gates at one thyristor .
we changed the thyristor but the failure or the malfunction was pointing to the other so our regulator is currently working with 5 thyristors in the bridge because the production was endangered.
Somewhere on the Internet we found the procedure for calibration and adjustment of 2 pulses cards . I suggest you do calibration because there may be a problem here somewhere. In addition, you are supposed to check the voltage on the secondary transformer and the fuse state .

After the experts swapped a bunch of parts on the kinetsync. The trig1 and other boards were swapped. The regulator is putting out no voltage now. There was a potentiometer turns with no results and no voltage change. When we were starting up it had a full 120v but we are supposed to have 90v for the exciter. Now it is reading zero in test mode.
Is kinetsync just a piece of junk? I don't know much about the quality or the company. I'm thinking this was just the cheapest option. We have an antique Ideal motor. The company has been through about 3 or 4 ownership changes over the years. I assume it still exists, but I wonder what the OEM recommends to use? I bet it isn't Kinetsync.

I'm not going to comment on the Kinetic unit either. I'll leave it to you to track down the right person to get technical details and pricing. Hopefully, you can get out of the bind you're in because being down a week without a known solution isn't very acceptable.
