Is there a standard that defines the how the content of drawing labels are to be done?

Should Sections Views be defined as Section X-X?
Should Details be defined as Detail X?
Should Views be defined as View X?

We typically add the page number on the ends it is created on.

I have one detailer that constantly wants to define his own standards and unfortunatly without a standard it often becomes difficult to force compliance. Unfortunatly getting rid of the individual is not my call as well as forcing the non-existant standards group to create one. Thanks

Is there some place that i can get a copy of that, for free? Or is there a way you can post the relevant information. Limited budget issues. Thanks

Hey- if you guys are working without a "Drafting Standard" and can afford a couple hundred for a completely integrated set, may I suggest GLOBAL Engineering Documents' "DRAWING Requirements Manual" ?
1. It completely integrates drafting standards from MULTIPLE disciplines, based on the ASME y-14.5x Standard.
2. You don't have to Google multiple resources for your various needs, HOPING you get something usable, even among purchasable ASME Standards.
3. Its based on the standard, but you can use it as a basis for your own, because
4. its available in a bound edition and has a CD version of the manual, included.
5. It includes MANY examples of drawings with the standard being discussed as an aid to interpretation, and if you look on page 4-125 you'll see an illustration of a section callout and its associated view. It supports YOUR position of Section: A-A, and other examples support your position of Detail-A or Det: A.

Good luck !
