Has any one carried out a test on laboratory ductwork using pepperment oil to establish leakes? and what is the acceptable leakage allowance for a PC3 laboratory in Australia? Ductwork & Room?

The Australian std calls for a leakage rate in the range of 100~1000 litres/min @ 200 pa pressure for rooms. They do not specify any leakage rate for duct work.I have used class c duct work for PC3 labs. For details of duct test refer to DW 142 which gives allowable leakage factors in l/sec/m2 for a given test pressure.

Thanks SAK9. As you have indicated we have tested our ductwork and achieved the leakage rates as per AS4254. The client has requested we have an overall leakage rate for room and ductwork under 1.0 L/s @ 200 Pa. The reason for this is Formaldehyde bombing of the room to prevent unwanted losses into occupied areas.
