Laboratory equipment material required for testing sour oil

i will shortly be involved in the testing of some Very sour oil samples at reservoir temperatures and pressures. I would be interested in any advice you could provide on the suitability of 316 Stainless pressure vessels and tubing.
As a guide the rough test parameters are given below
Pressure 0 to 15000psig
temperature ambient to 200 degrees C
expected residence time in equipment 12 hrs
H2S levels upto and Beyond 600ppm.

Take a look at, NACE-MR0175

316SS, as long as it meets NACE 0175, should be just fine for your application. We use C276, but we also are using high concentrations of chlorides and much higher levels of H2S and CO2.

One does not just throw together a sour autoclave system. It will be safer and less expensive to use an exisiting laboratory that routinely performs these types of tests. A good one is Intercorr International in Houston

NACE MR-0175 latest edition provides fairly severe limits on H2S partial pressure for 316LSS and running a test above 60C with any water and chlorides is very dangerous because of the risk of cracking.
