Thanks for the replies but no real good suggestions yet. All the winding are equal in resistance . no grounds , since it is a capacitor start motor if it starts in low speed then the cap is good right . It is a original installation motor and the switch was replaced then these problems arise of runs in low but no high speed and when turned on it runs the same speed but humms . I can't get a wiring diagram from italy for it , leads are labelled as group 1 and group 2 .I have swithced the leads around and tested untill I am frustraited with no certain resolve . arcman

Good afternoon,
Does, you motor have a centrifugal switch, if so have you check it for correct operation? You may need to adjust the spring tention if possiable. Let me know if you need more help
